I had the Fish n chips. The two fillets of Fish, was so fresh and fluffy, absolutely Beautiful. The chips were great as well fantastic spot to have a driver stop for some R.n.R.

I travel all over South Australia. We visit a lot of Cafe's, so we would have the good and bad, and the ugly.. if you follow my reviews you know I am not into the habit of holding back on bad service . With that said , I am sure you would be relieved to read I would put this Cafe in the top 5% for food, the top 10% for atmosphere, and would a good 100% for service. These lovely people who serve you here , nothing seems too hard to do. They are polite and accommodating, with service to your desired table , whether it be inside the cafe in the main area, outside in the side shaded courtyard, or in the more private side inside area. This place as you would expect is clean and well set out with ample seating whether you be 1 person or a group. The menu ranges from lovely tea and coffee to a meal. I would personally recommend the Yiros which can be made to your own desire with chicken or lamb, of which these yummy and extremely tasty delights are my personal favourite. Also recommended is the chips with gravy, and personalised toasted sandwich with a delicious choice of ingredients. As you would take it as a given that a cafe would provide coffee, this for some cafes find it hard to do, but not here making lovely coffee every time. Recommended is their cappuccino and Latte. To my delight they have tea and provide lovely English Breakfast tea, and in a teapot if you so desire. Sadly, in this day and age, at other so called cafes is disappointingly hard to find. If I have said this time and time again..is so important for a good Cafe to get the basics right, and this Cafe doesn't disappoint. There is ample on street parking, so if parking close by so you can keep an eye on your ride is your thing , it is easy to do, if you so desire. Now there are no public toilets here , but right across the road is council buildings with very clean and tidy bathrooms with disability access and disability toilets provided there. The patrons here also seem to be very nice , which you might ask why would that be important at a Cafe? , of course the atmosphere is not just their choice of music , or the spacious seating, it is also what kind of customers a business attracts......WELL.. Everyone I have said " hello " to looking for a nice Cafe with an enjoyable experience is friendly and nice. This Cafe is situated right in the middle of this lovely town , which is important with people traveling to this town for events and its rich history. I would recommend if you are travelling through this lovely town you call into this Cafe for the country town Cafe experience. I really have enjoyed my visits to this Cafe and cannot wait until my next visit. PS Yes I have " nice ", " lovely ", " enjoyable " and " yummy " here a lot to describe my experience here ...because that is how I would sum Mallala Cafe as nice , lovely, enjoyable and yummy .

If you're headed through Mallala and need a break .... coffee, food is great! Hot chips n gravy! The double beef burger was awesome ..... try eating it without using the knife and fork .... good Luck! Happily recommend it! We will be back there when we are through there again!
